Don’t miss upcoming deadlines for great opportunities for high school students, including Madison Promise, Early College Academies and dual-credit summer courses. 

Madison Promise Spring Semester 2026 — Apply by Friday, Jan. 16

Madison Promise offers students in grades nine through 12 a flexible schedule with live classes taught by MMSD educators. Students then log into the Pearson platform using their school Chromebooks to complete their work. Students who are successful in our program attend class regularly, have a dedicated Learning Coach at home and are self-motivated to log in and complete work daily.

Early College Academies — Apply by Thursday, Jan. 29

MMSD high school students can jump-start their future through our FREE Early College Programs in partnership with Madison College. Explore careers in healthcare, technology, STEM, education and more, all while earning college credits in high school. Academies include:

  • Networking & Cybersecurity – Dive into tech & IT
  • Running Start – Tailored learning for your future
  • STEM Academy – Start your path to innovation
  • Education Academy – Shape the future through teaching

Early College Credit Program (ECCP) and Start College Now (SCN) Summer Courses — Apply by Sunday, Feb. 1

The State of Wisconsin provides two dual enrollment opportunities, the Early College Credit Program (ECCP) and Start College Now (SCN), to support college credit attainment while a student is still in high school. 

Summer term courses through ECCP at UW-Madison or SCN at Madison College are open to current MMSD students who will be entering 11th or 12th grade in the 2026-27 school year. Applications to take summer classes in either program are due Sunday, Feb. 1.

  • The Early College Credit Program (ECCP) allows high school students the opportunity to take FREE college courses at Wisconsin public (University of Wisconsin) and private universities. 
  • Start College Now (SCN) allows high school students the opportunity to take college courses at Wisconsin Technical Colleges.
